On-Site Workshops

For Students:

The instructors at Jane Ross Tutoring will come to your school to present any of our workshops. We can design a schedule to meet your needs. The three most popular formats are workshops during the school day, after-school mini-sessions, and full-day Saturday workshops. These workshops are more economical for schools that have at least 30 participants. The per-student fee is significantly discounted. Also, we have experience working with large audiences. Although we recommend a class size of 50 or fewer, we can provide our workshop for 400 students or more!

We provide on-site workshops to train students to raise their scores on the ACT, PSAT, and SAT. We also provide study skills workshops, typically for 8th or 9th grade students.

For Teachers:

Jane Ross Tutoring offers professional development for teachers to share what can be done in the classroom to help students on the ACT. Simple strategies and assessment techniques can be implemented immediately to get students accustomed to the “ACT way” of asking questions.

First, though, teachers need to familiarize themselves with the format of the ACT and know exactly what the content is. All of this—and much more—is covered in a workshop that can be designed to meet your school’s exact needs.

Generally, these workshops work best when teachers are divided by content area. All teachers can be accommodated in two sessions: Session 1 covers the English and reading tests, and Session 2 covers the math and science tests.
